On this day trip to Laguna El Tabacal, we'll explore one of the most sacred and mysterious sites in La Vega, plus we'll visit a coffee farm!
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the selected point in Bogota. From there, we'll embark on a 50-minute road trip to the municipality of La Vega, an ideal destination for coffee and nature lovers!
Along the way, we'll stop at Alto del Vino, one of the highest points in the region. There, we'll be able to enjoy a traditional breakfast with toast and eggs, perfect for fueling up with energy at the beginning of the day.
Next, we'll continue the route to the Gallito Torres coffee farm, where, upon arrival, we'll traverse rural roads via an off-roading vehicle. We'll make our way through the fields, learning about the varieties of the region and feeling the emotion of harvesting the ripe beans.
Afterward, we'll join a workshop where you can prepare your own cup of coffee, as we learn about the traditional methods of extraction. This activity is sure to whet your appetite! Don't worry, next we'll enjoy a typical lunch made of fresh seasonal ingredients.
Then, we'll return to the vehicle to go in search of the mystical Laguna El Tabacal. Through nature trails, we'll discover the history of this sacred site for the indigenous community of the region. Welcome to one of the most mysterious lakes in Colombia!
Did you know that this lake was once a sacred site for leaving offerings and performing rituals? It's rumored to still hide treasures in its depths! We'll learn a lot more interesting facts about this natural enclave as we stroll along its shores and feel the special energy that surrounds the place.
Before heading back to Bogota, we'll make a pit stop at a traditional handicrafts shop in La Vega where, if you wish, you can buy a typical souvenir.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at the initial starting point after 7 to 8 hours of adventure.
