Free Tour of Bogota

Meeting in the heart of Bogota, we'll begin our free tour of the historic centre of Colombia's capital, letting you in on its most surprising secrets.

We'll visit the outside of the most emblematic monuments in the city, and tour all its most important corners, discovering the stories and history in the streets of Bogota. In the Plazoleta del Rosario we'll learn about the history of its statue, paying homage to Gonzalo Jiménez de Quezada who founded the city in his search for “El Dorado”.

We'll appreciate the perfectly preserved state of the colonial architecture in the square, and hear the story of the evolution of the metropolis since its founding in 1583. The tour heads to Plaza de Bolívar, the most famous in Bogota, dedicated to Simón Bolívar, who won independence for Colombia in 1819, despite a dramatic attempt to assassinate him. We'll show you where, when, and how the attempt took place.

You're sure to be fascinated by the monuments which can be found in the city, such as the National Capital and The Primatial Cathedral of Bogota with its stunning neoclassical detail. And the tour will take you as far as the Plazoleta del Chorro Quevedo, known as the exact point around which Bogota grew, and a corner of the city full of myth, legend, and even magic...
