Tour Details
If you're spending time in the Colombian capital city and still haven't discovered the Chapinero neighbourhood, join us on this free tour! On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time at the Parque de los Hippies, next to the Bogotá sign, to begin our discovery of the financial district of Bogotá.
Located right in the heart of Bogotá, Chapinero has seen a multitude of history, culture and innovation over the years. While we admire the minor basilica, we'll take a step back in time to when it was founded in 1875.
From this neo-Gothic building, we'll take a stroll through the main streets of Chapinero to learn about the role of the Colombian Stock Exchange. Once we've discovered the secrets of Colombia's economic centre, we'll give you an insight into Colombia's education system and the role that Chapinero plays in it.
We'll explore the history of Chapinero as an epicenter of diversity and inclusion, especially for the LGBTQ+ community, understanding how this neighborhood transitioned from clandestinity and discrimination to visibility, activism, and celebration.
Plus, we'll discover the emergence of Chapinero as a gastronomic and creative hub, visiting the Zona G and the cultural ventures that became economic engines and symbols of urban contrast and transformation.
After a 3-hour tour of the Chapinero neighbourhood, our free tour will come to an end at the Librería Wilborada 1047.
