Conquer the summit of one of the mountains in Colombia's Cordillera Central on our Santa Isabel Volcano 2-Day Private Hike. We'll trek through the Los Nevados National Natural Park and get in touch with nature during this unforgettable experience.
Santa Isabel Volcano 2-Day Private Hike
Day 1
At 6 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Pereira and head towards the Potosí hacienda. After a 30-minute drive, we'll arrive at our destination and have a breakfast of eggs, bread and a hot drink. Having fuelled up for the day, we'll leave our backpacks at this lodge and begin our hike.
Our hike will begin by heading to the Laguna Verde sector in the Los Nevados National Natural Park. As we walk, we'll see species of flora and fauna endemic to this area, such as frailejones. You'll see how this plant species has succulent hairy leaves arranged in a dense spiral that forms a rosette at the top. This section of the hiking route will take us between 3 and 5 hours.
After the day's walk, we'll return to the lodge to have a lunch of soup, rice, meat and a drink. We'll then get some rest and relax here to get ready for the next day of hiking.
Day 2
Rise and shine! We'll start our day at 2 am with a hot drink and breakfast at the lodge. Once we're ready, we'll hop into a jeep and drive for 35 minutes to the Conejeras sector.
When we get there, we'll start hiking to the summit of the Santa Isabel Volcano. Along the way, we'll find stretches where you can even climb up the mountain. Having spent 4 hours of hiking, we'll reach the summit.
If we have good weather, we'll look out at a spectacular view of the other snow-capped mountains in the area. We'll take a well-deserved break here to take in the fresh air and admire the picture-perfect views. Afterwards, we'll head back to Conejeras to return to the lodge. At 1 pm, we'll arrive at the Potosí hacienda and have a delicious lunch.
We'll then take you back to your hotel in Pereira by jeep and finish our adventure. See you next time!
