On this day trip to the Finca Recuca, you'll become a local for a few hours to discover how coffee is made. We'll walk through the plantations, take part in the harvest and get to know the art of coffee making by practicing the "coffee rite".
Finca Recuca Visit
We'll pick you up at your hotel at the selected time and we'll head to the Finca Recuca, where we'll be able to take the popular Coffee Culture Tour.
When we cross the gate of the farm, we'll stop being visitors, and for a few hours we'll be transformed into authentic muleteers and "chapoleras". Dressed in the typical clothes, we'll feel like locals as we take a half-hour walk along the Coffee Trail. Amongst the coffee plantations, we'll admire the landscape and learn all about coffee cultivation. Would you like to make your own coffee?
We'll take on the role of coffee growers and take part in a simulation of coffee picking. There will even be a simulation of paying for our product, with a note from the picker's bank!
We'll continue the immersion by experiencing the post-harvest process. With our pick in hand, we'll head to the 'grandparents' mill' and the 'organic mill'. There we'll see how the grain is processed.
Did you know that Recuca has its own "coffee rite"? We'll discover it together with the locals, learning how to prepare and drink it. In addition, we'll complete the experience with a cup of authentic Recuca Exportación coffee.
We'll finish the coffee experience by returning to your hotel after a 4 to 5-hour day trip.
