Welcome to Cartagena de Indias! One hour after your cruise ship has docked, we'll pick you up at the cruise port and, after introductions, we'll board a minibus ready to start this panoramic tour of the city.
First, we'll head towards the iconic walls, where we'll find the imposing Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, the most important fortress in Colombia. These walls, which surround the historic center for 11 kilometers (6.8 mi), were built at the end of the 16th century to defend the city from pirate attacks.
Next, we'll then pass by the Clock Tower, another of the most emblematic monuments of the city. While over the years the tower has undergone some modifications, its function as a timekeeper remains intact.
Then, we'll continue our route, reaching the highest point of the city, La Popa Hill at 150 meters (492 ft) high. Afterward, we'll enter the streets of Getsemaní, a neighborhood full of colorful graffiti that has undergone a complete transformation. Be sure to have your cameras ready!
Finally, to put the finishing touch to the experience, we'll leave you 15 minutes of free time in Las Bóvedas, at the handicraft market where you can find the perfect souvenir from Cartagena.
Lastly, we'll take you back to the port, bringing our experience to an end, 4 hours later.
