First, we’ll visit the San Francisco Market Square, a feast of colors and aromas. We’ll walk among stalls selling cassava, different varieties of potatoes, and you’ll discover the famous “butter” avocado from San Vicente de Chucurí.
During the market visit, we’ll sample up to 6 fruits, such as pomegranate and pineapple from Lebrija, and toast with freshly prepared natural juices. Before leaving, we’ll visit the medicinal plants section.
Afterward, we’ll stroll through the commercial streets to experience the energy of everyday life until we reach the San Francisco de Asís Church. Here, we’ll discover the social legacy of the Franciscan community and how this church became the spiritual center of the district.
Next, we’ll head to the leather goods area, famous for its footwear and leather products. Did you know Bucaramanga is nationally recognized for the quality of its leather craftsmanship? Here, you’ll see the work of local artisans and enjoy special prices on shoes, bags, and accessories if you’d like to take home a souvenir.
During the route, there’ll also be a “street food touch,” as we’ll try corn arepas and artisanal chorizos that perfectly capture the flavors of the region. Enjoy!
