Tour Details
At the indicated time, we’ll meet at the meeting point you selected when booking and begin this experience where history, culture, and flavor come together in the heart of Bucaramanga.
First, we’ll stroll through Centenario Park, once the city’s transportation hub, to admire the Santander Theater. This architectural gem has been restored to recover its splendor as the cultural heart of the city.
Next, we’ll walk to a traditional lunch counter with decades of history. Here, we’ll taste the famous queso de hoja and artisanal Santander-style sausages, prepared using family recipes passed down through generations.
Afterward, we’ll visit a hat workshop to learn about the importance of this accessory in rural and farming life, where it symbolizes identity and regional pride.
We’ll continue the route by heading into the Central Market Square, where we’ll tell you about the products that have turned the Santander department into a major Colombian agricultural powerhouse. We’ll discover cassava, the creamy avocado from San Vicente de Chucurí, and sample 6 varieties of local fruit, including pineapple from Lebrija. We’ll also explore the handicrafts and medicinal plants sections.
To end on a high note, we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch at the market. You’ll be able to choose between delicacies such as carne oreada, flank steak, the iconic Santander-style mute soup, or the famous pepitoria, made with goat offal. Enjoy!
