Enjoy the typical landscapes of the Colombian department of Cauca on this hiking route through the Silvia moorland. We'll see high mountains and even participate in an ancestral rite!
Silvia Moorland Hike
At 7 am, we'll meet at Parque Principal, the main park of Silvia, to start a hike that will take us to discover the beautiful landscapes of the surroundings of this town.
When booking, you can choose to go on a 4 or 9-hour hiking tour, it's up to you! Whichever hike you choose, we'll have plenty of time to get to know the local flora and fauna and take hundreds of photos of the wilderness of the Silvia moorland.
During the hike, we'll walk along an ancestral trail that once connected the Colombian departments of Cauca and Huila. We'll see small springs and high mountains and come across several specimens of frailejones, a typical shrub of the area. Fun fact: this plant, of which there are 90 varieties in Colombia, has a very slow growth process and can take up to 100 years to reach a height of 2 meters!
If you choose the 9-hour route, we'll also participate in a ritual of the Misak tribe in which we'll make an offering to Mother Earth - a very spiritual moment.
We'll finish our hiking route through the Silvia moorlands at the starting point at 11 am or 4 pm, depending on the duration you choose.
