Santa Marta, Cabo de la Vela & Riohacha 4-day Package Tour
Day 1: Santa Marta
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at the Santa Marta airport or your hotel and head to the El Rodadero area to drop off your luggage. Afterwards, we'll head to the coast and board a speedboat that will take us on a cruise through the Colombian Caribbean to Playa Blanca.
We'll enjoy a traditional lunch at a beachfront restaurant and then you'll have the afternoon free to relax on the beach. You can take a dip in the water, walk along the sand and sunbathe.
Then we'll return to the hotel, have dinner and end the day with a night tour of Santa Marta. In addition, this tour will be done in a chiva rumbera, a bus that doubles as a mobile disco. It'll be so much fun!
Day 2: Santa Marta - Cabo de la Vela
The second day of this package tour will be spent getting into the peninsula of La Guajira, which will take us a little more than six hours. To liven up the trip, we will make several stops along the way. We'll stop for breakfast in Palomino, change vehicles in Riohacha to do part of the journey in 4x4 and, after crossing Uribia, the indigenous capital of Colombia, we'll arrive at the salt flats of Manaure. Ready to discover the secrets of salt production?
Lastly, we'll cross the Ahuyama desert and arrive at Cabo de la Vela. We'll have lunch and, in the afternoon, we'll hike the Pilón de Azúcar, a sacred place for the Wayú community. We'll give you some free time at Playa Dorada and Playa Ojo de Agua beaches and end the day with dinner back at the hotel.
Day 3: Cabo de la Vela - Riohacha
After breakfast, we'll leave Cabo de la Vela and head towards the beaches of Mayapo. There we'll visit the Maliiwala refuge, where we'll learn about the indigenous traditions in this region. We'll enjoy lunch and have some free time for sunbathing before heading to Riohacha for dinner to spend the night.
Day 4: Riohacha - Santa Marta
We'll have breakfast at the hotel and leave downtown Riohacha to head to Los Flamencos Natural Park, located between the Caribbean Sea and the dry forest of La Guajira. Once we have arrived at our destination, we'll board a boat to explore the lagoons of this reserve - be on the lookout for wild birds!
The tour will end by dropping you off at Santa Marta's downtown or the airport. And, if you prefer, we can also finish the tour at Riohacha's airfield.
