Are you in San Andrés and want to earn your official diving certification? This PADI Open Water Course will allow you to dive all around the world down to 18 metres (60 feet) and explore the underwater world of the Colombian Caribbean over 3 days.
Options
When booking your PADI Open Water Course, you can choose between the following options. In both cases, the course will last 3 days and includes both in-person and virtual theory classes and exercises, that you must pass to complete the course. Once you've booked the activity, go to the diving centre to be given your passwords to be able to access the online learning platform. The certification will allow you to dive all around the world to a maximum of 18 metres (60 feet).
Basic Course
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in San Andrés and take you to the diving centre where we'll learn about the theory side of things. If you choose the PADI Open Water Basic Diving Course, you'll learn how to float and also to regulate your breathing when under the water.
On the first day, the instructor will explain how to take the diving equipment on and off, as well as the correct way to get in and out of the water. You'll also be taught how to use the equipment correctly and some basic underwater skills. Once you've learnt the theory, you'll perform your first dive in open water, diving down to 10 metres (33 feet), over the course of around 35 to 45 minutes.
On the second day, we'll perform a total of 2 more dives in the open water. This time, the dives will last from 35 minutes to an hour. The objective of this second part of the PADI course is to improve your autonomy under the water.
On the third and final day, once we've donned our wetsuits, we'll put our diving skills to the test and perform a dive of 18 metres (60 feet).
This way, you'll have passed the practical part of the course, and if you have also passed the online part, you'll be ready to receive your official PADI Open Water Certificate.
Advanced Course
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in San Andrés and take you to the diving centre where we'll tell you about the fundamental diving techniques. If you choose the Advanced PADI Open Water course, the theory and exercises over the 3 days will be the same as the previous option, but the difference will be that the final dive will correspond with one of the speciality options.
You can choose between the following options:
- Deep dive
- Night dive
- Fish identification
- Maximum buoyancy performance
- Search and recovery
- Underwater Naturalist
- Underwater navigation
After having passed all the tests, both online and practical, you'll have completed the PADI Open Water Diving Course.
