Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Portuguese Centre of Photography to start a walking tour of the historic centre of Porto. Ready to discover the charms of the city along the Douro?
First, we'll take a walk to the Lello Bookshop to visit the interior of this establishment. Is it true that this shop was J.K. Rowling's inspiration for the Hogwarts library? After discovering the links of this shop with the Harry Potter saga, we'll continue our tour of Porto by admiring the tiles of the São Bento station, whose scenes narrate various episodes in the history of Portugal.
We'll continue our walk to the Ribeira district, where we'll see the Dom Luís I Bridge and cross the Douro River on the pedestrian area of this footbridge. On the other side of the river awaits the town of Vila Nova de Gaia, where we'll board its famous cable car. Its cabins offer magnificent panoramic views of Porto.
After a 5-minute ride on the Gaia cable car, we'll head to a local river dock to enjoy a boat trip on the Douro River. This trip will allow us to see the classic traditional wooden boats known as 'rabelos'.
As we sail, we'll see the Dom Luís I and Arrábida bridges, among other iconic footbridges that connect both banks of the Douro. The 1-hour trip will end at the quay located at number 4400, Avenida de Ramos Pinto.
At this last point in Vila Nova de Gaia, we'll end this complete tour of Porto and its neighbouring town, which will last 4 hours in total.
Tour Without Lello Bookshop
During the booking process, you can choose the option that does not include a visit or entrance to the Lello Bookshop. In this case, we'll start the tour by visiting the São Bento station.
