Tour Details
Day 1
After meeting at the pier of Isla Fantasía of the Malecón of Leticia at the designated time, we'll board a speedboat to Puerto Nariño. We'll cruise down the Amazon River for 2 hours while admiring the unique biodiversity.
Once in Puerto Nariño, we'll begin to explore this village in which many indigenous groups live, and we'll discuss the Ticuna, Cocama and Yagua tribes. In the evening, we'll grab the necessary equipment and embark on a nocturnal expedition through the jungles of Puerto Nariño, where you'll discover many exotic insects and amphibians.
Finally, we'll return to the accommodation to rest.
Day 2
We'll start our second day with a delicious breakfast and a visit to Maloka Tikuna. You'll then learn about this Amazonian community's ancestral rites and customs from local families. In addition, you'll participate in a workshop with local games and natural paints.
After replenishing our energy with a traditional lunch, we'll enjoy a boat trip on the Loretoyacu River. During our trip, we'll talk about the crocodiles, piranhas and river dolphins that live here. To end the day, we'll watch a beautiful sunset over the river and spot the black caimans that frequent the area. Afterwards, we'll have dinner and return to the accommodation for the night.
Day 3
Our third day will begin with stunning views of the Lake Tarapoto wetlands. After breakfast, we'll return to Puerto Nariño and cross the jungle through a trail of wooden bridges.
After 3 hours on the road, we'll arrive at the indigenous community of San Martin de Amacayacu, where we'll be welcomed by a local family. We'll have lunch and visit the community to learn more about their way of life, trades and language.
We'll then spend the night in an accommodation in the community.
Day 4
We'll start our fourth day with breakfast and a canoe ride through the Amacayacu National Park to Mocagua. In this Southern Colombian indigenous community, we'll discover more traditions and customs of Amazonian tribes.
After lunch, we'll head to the monkey sanctuary of Mocagua. The primates housed here have been rescued from illegal animal trafficking, and you'll have the chance to feed them and say hello.
At the end of the day, we'll return to the accommodation in Puerto Nariño to rest.
Day 5
The last day of the tour will be spent returning to Leticia. After breakfast at the accommodation in Mocagua, we'll head back at 7 am.
After a 90-minute journey, we'll say our goodbyes back at the initial meeting point.
