On this day trip from La Macarena, you'll discover the Caño Cristales, a charming 7-coloured river located in the jungles of Colombia's interior. You'll love the landscape!
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from La Macarena airport. From the terminal, we'll make our way to the city's riverport to begin our speed boat ride on the Guaybero River.
After a journey of around 20 minutes, we'll arrive at the Los Mangos harbour. Once we've disembarked, we'll hop into an off-roading vehicle that will take us into the Colombian jungle. The journey, which will last around 40 minutes, will take us to the Sierra de la Macarena checkpoint. From there, we'll begin our hiking route towards the Caño Cristales, one of the hidden jewels of the Colombian Department of Meta.
During the hike, whose duration will depend on the pace of the group, we'll pass by different wells and natural swimming pools like the Ochos, the Pianos, the Piscina del Turista and the Tapete. We'll take a short break at the one you like most, where we'll go for a refreshing dip in the middle of nature.
At the end of the trail, the famous Caño Cristales await us, also known as the 7-colour river due to the pigmentation of the different sediments in the water. Blue, pink, green, red, yellow and black are among the most popular colours seen here. You'll be able to take many photos of this colour range in all its splendour!
We'll make another stop to take in the calmness of these beautiful landscapes and enjoy a delicious lunch out in the open air, which will include various cold meats wrapped in banana leaves. After eating, we'll make our way on foot back to the starting point of the hiking trail. From there, we'll return by off-roading vehicle to Los Mangos, where we'll then take a speedboat back to La Macarena river harbour.
After disembarking back in the city, we'll take you to La Macarena airport, where we're expected to arrive at around 5 pm.
