A day trip to the Entreaguas Natural Reserve to enjoy its biodiversity while hiking is something you can't miss during your visit to Ibagué.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ibagué to set off to the Entreaguas Natural Reserve, an eco-tourism area located on the trail of San Simón Coello.
Our first stop will be to enjoy a typical breakfast with a popular lechona tolimense. This traditional dish consists of pork meat grilled for a long time, stuffed with onions, peas, fresh herbs, and fresh spices, and served with rice. Did you know it was awarded the best pork dish in the world by a recognized culinary platform? You'll have the privilege of trying this dish!
After revitalizing, we'll head to the Coello-Cocora trail, where we'll step into this natural reserve. Here, we'll start a hiking route that will take you to discover the flora and fauna of this site and the story of Álvaro Mutis, one of the most important Colombian authors who was inspired by Entreaguas for his work.
We'll walk along the border of the Coello River, surrounded by exotic vegetation as we tell you stories of the local culture. We'll cross the hidden waterfalls of this natural sanctuary, passing by the creeks, native plants, and colorful birds that inhabit this ecosystem. Later, you'll meet a local family who will invite us into their home to enjoy a countryside lunch filled with authentic flavors.
Our experience will continue with local music where everyone will sing, dance, and play instruments. To wrap up this activity on a high, we'll participate in a crafts workshop with a hot chocolate and an arepa. What more could you ask for?
Finally, we'll return to Ibagué and drop you off at your hotel, 11 hours after pickup.
