On this 2-day private trekking route we'll reach the famous El Salto waterfall and walk through the wonderful landscapes at the foot of the Nevado del Tolima, Colombian nature awaits you!
El Salto Waterfall 2-day Private Hiking Tour
Day 1
At 6 am we'll meet at Carrera 4d in Ibagué. There we'll get into a 4x4 to drive to Juntas, where we'll start our trekking route to the waterfall El Salto. Here we go!
In Juntas we'll have a breakfast that will fill us with energy for the excursion. At 7:30 am we'll start walking through this mountainous terrain in the direction of the Escuela El Salto or El Salto School. In the six to eight hours it'll take us to complete the trail, we'll walk through the Combeima canyon and admire the snow-capped summit of Tolima. The views will be incredible!
Halfway along the route, we'll take a break to recharge our batteries with a lunch of rice, meat and plantain, and a refreshing lemonade.
Finally, we'll arrive at the rural inn of the El Salto School, one of the most beautiful in the area, home to young farmers and a refuge for mountain lovers. Here we'll rest until the next day.
Day 2
On the second day we'll recharge our batteries with breakfast at the school's rural inn. When we're ready, we'll set off on an exciting one-hour route to the waterfall El Salto - don't forget your camera!
After enjoying the scenery of the waterfall, we'll return to the school and head back to Juntas. On this five to six hour descent, we'll stop for a hamburger and enjoy the scenery of the Nevado del Tolima. Did you know that this volcano is more than 5200 metres (17060) high?
There we'll get into the jeep to travel to Ibagué, where we'll arrive at 5 pm.
Accommodation
The tour includes one night's accommodation at the rural inn of the El Salto School.
