In this cocoa tour around San Rafael, we'll discover the process of making one of Colombia's most famous products, from its plantation to the delicious chocolate it becomes.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Portobello Mall in Guatapé to begin this cocoa tour around San Rafael, where you'll discover the secrets of one of Colombia's star products.
Leaving the starting point behind, we'll travel to a San Rafael cocoa farm. Once we arrive, we'll walk about 200 metres (656 feet) to the main house, where we'll be welcomed with a refreshing drink.
Afterwards, we'll delve into the world of Colombian cocoa, touring the farm where an expert will explain the steps in the process, such as cultivation, flowering and harvesting.
Next, we'll visit the wood stove where the cocoa beans are roasted, choosing the best seeds. Afterwards, we'll see how the shell is removed, the inside is ground and the cocoa is extracted, which will be used to make a chocolate bar. Once it has cooled, it'll be ready to be eaten!
After this optional demonstration, we'll walk to the river, where you can enjoy a chocolate exfoliation ritual. A very natural experience!
As we wrap up our sweet day, we'll return to Guatapé. The arrival is scheduled 4 hours after.
