At the scheduled time, we'll meet up at Marina Navegar and set off on our 1 or 2-day tour of the Guatapé reservoir. Let the adventure begin!
First, we'll embark on a delightful boat trip around the reservoir, a massive dam sprawling across approximately 6365 hectares (15,728 acres), one of Antioquia's most picturesque sites.
Afterward, we'll head to the town center for a typical Colombian breakfast to fuel your day. Subsequently, a tuk-tuk ride will take you through the most emblematic places in this charming town.
The journey will continue to the renowned Piedra del Peñol, a breathtaking attraction in the region. Here, you'll have the option to ascend the more than 700 steps leading to the summit of this impressive 220-meter-high (721-foot) monolith.
After this stop, we'll board another boat to reach the Volare Hotel, where a delightful lunch awaits. Then, you'll get 30 minutes for paddle surfing or kayaking on the private lake, capturing glimpses of La Manuela farm, once owned by Pablo Escobar.
Concluding the adventure, we'll return to the starting point and bid farewell after a total of 6 hours of exploration.
For an even more enriching experience, we recommend opting for the 2-day tour. On the first day, our itinerary mirrors that of the preceding tour. Then, you'll enjoy an all-inclusive overnight stay with breakfast at the Volare Hotel (3 stars).
The second day unfolds with a post-breakfast hike to the Piedra del Marial, with one of the best panoramic views of the Guatapé reservoir. Afterwards, you can hang out at the lodge's heated swimming pool and seize the opportunity for another round of paddle surfing or kayaking. We'll say our goodbyes at around 5 pm back at the starting point, concluding your unforgettable adventure.
