With this 4x4 tour from Boticas, you'll visit the beautiful monumental center of Chaves and explore the region surrounding it.
Having picked you up at your hotel in Boticas at your chosen time, we'll travel by 4x4 vehicle or minibus to the beautiful city of Chaves, approximately a 30-minute journey.
Our first visit will be to the medieval castle of Chaves, home to a long history of mysteries and legends. We'll also learn about the history of the São Francisco and São Neutel forts: two spectacular constructions in the heart of the old town. And before leaving the city behind, we'll make a brief stop at the Roman bridge, built over the Tâmega River by order of Emperor Trajan.
Then we'll continue onto Portugal’s longest road, Nacional 2 and its famous point Kilometre Zero. Before ending the tour we'll make one last stop at the thermal baths. Here, we'll explain how this great public work was built, and its importance as the social center of the society of the time.
Finally, after three of travel, we'll return to your hotel in Boticas.
Please note that pickup is included from hotels located within a 2-kilometer (1.2-mile) radius of the center of Boticas. If your accommodation is outside this area, you'll need to make your own way to the meeting point in Chaves: Alameda das Caldas, next to the spa.
