Full-Day Tour (7.5 Hours)
After picking you up from Vigla Hotel in Tholaria, we'll leave Tholaria and its white houses with blue windows behind and head by minibus to the unparalleled beauty of Aegiali Bay. We'll make a first stop at the Church of Agios Giorgios Valsamitis, built on the site of an ancient Greek oracle.
Then we'll head south, stopping along the way at a coffee shop for a break and a drink. We'll then go to the village of Arkesini, where the Church of Agia Triada, built on a fortress and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is located.
Our next stop will be at the Hozoviotissa Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Greece. The monastery is embedded into the rock on a cliff 300 meters above sea level, giving it a unique appearance. The monks, guardians of this architectural wonder, make traditional offerings of raki and loukoumi, a liqueur and traditional sweets, inside.
Next, we'll visit Chora or Hora, the capital of the island. We'll stroll through its charming cobblestone streets and white buildings with polychrome wood decorations.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point to conclude this tour of the island of Amorgos. We'll arrive there 7.5 hours after initial pickup.
