Routes and Stops
The Washington hop-on hop-off bus offers two different routes, the red line and the blue line, that cover the city's most important landmarks, such as the National Mall, the Jefferson Memorial, and Arlington Cemetery. During the tour, you can enjoy recorded commentary about the sights along the way.
Some of the most interesting stops include the Capitol, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument (the famous obelisk), the Pentagon, and Arlington Cemetery.

Bike Rental
With either ticket option, you'll have access to a special offer for bike rentals: for one hour of rental, at a price of 8USD, you'll get another hour free of charge. Bikes can be picked up at the Unlimited Biking Washington DC office: 998 Maine Avenue SW, Washington DC 20024.
Ticket Options
You can choose between the following options to tailor your Big Bus tour to your trip:
- 24-hour ticket for the red line: you can enjoy the red line for 24 consecutive hours.
- 24-hour ticket for both lines: includes unlimited access to Big Bus buses for 24 consecutive hours on the red and blue lines. It also includes a walking tour.
- 24-hour ticket for the red line + Watertaxi: enjoy the red line for 24 consecutive hours, plus a panoramic watertaxi ride along the Potomac River. This way, you'll be able to visit spots such as The Wharf, Georgetown, and Old Town Alexandria.
- 48-hour ticket: includes unlimited use of Big Bus buses for 48 consecutive hours (for both lines), and a walking tour of the city.
- 72-hour ticket: includes unlimited use of Big Bus buses for 72 consecutive hours (for both lines), and the same benefits as the 48-hour ticket.
How Does it Work?
Your ticket will be valid for 24, 48, or 72 consecutive days after the first use. During this time, you can get on and off the buses as many times as you'd like and explore Washington, DC's most emblematic monuments at your leisure.
Although you must select a date when booking, your ticket will be valid for 12 months following this date. When you book we'll send you a voucher by email which On the first day, you'll have to redeem the voucher at the first stop on the route, specified in the temporary closures and timetables section.
Departure Times & Frequency
The Washington hop-on hop-off bus operates daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, with departures every 30 to 45 minutes.
