After picking you up at the hotel, we'll head to Capitol Hill. This residential neighborhood is located in downtown Washington, D.C. and is home to some of the most important government buildings in the United States.
We'll begin with a tour of the Capitol, guided by the institution's own staff. This majestic neoclassical building has served as inspiration for government buildings in places like Cuba and Argentina. Inside the Capitol, we'll learn about the origins of the U.S. Congress and admire the grandiose dome that crowns the seat of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Next, walking through a tunnel, we'll enter the Library of Congress. We'll discover the history of this legendary passageway and the secrets of an institution that claims to be the most extensive library in the world. Did you know that one of the first Bibles printed by Gutenberg in the 16th century is kept here?
Then, we'll briefly visit the seat of the Supreme Court of the United States, the country's highest judicial body. We will stroll under its imposing columns while learning how the members of the court are elected. Before leaving, you can admire the friezes representing great legislators of history such as Hammurabi, Augustus, Charlemagne, and Napoleon.
After 3 to 4 hours touring DC, we'll bring the tour to an end by taking you back to your hotel.
