The Portuguese banks of the Duero produce some of the most exquisite wines in northern Portugal in towns such as Vila Nova de Gaia. In this town, separated from Porto by the river, the Fonseca Winery can be found. Did you know that this winery dates back more than 200 years?
This tour of this wine-tourism center lasts around an hour. Throughout your tour, you'll discover how these Porto wines are made. During the self-guided tour, you'll also discover the growing history of the Quinta do Panascal, learn about the aging process of the wines, and have the opportunity to discover state-of-the-art sustainable wine-making techniques.
The guided tour of the Fonesca Winery will end in the tasting room, where you'll try a glass of Oporto Fonesca Bin 27. Children will be able to try some grape juice made from grapes grown in the Duero Valley.
