Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at the main park in San Rafael. Here, you'll board a vehicle that will take you in less than 10 minutes to the Cacao Forest, a space filled with rural tradition.
Once we arrive, we'll step into the Finca El Diamante, a farm where we'll learn about the types of cacao that are grown in the region of Antioquia, how they are harvested, and what affects their quality. You'll be able to taste the fresh cacao fruit directly from the tree. You'll be surprised by their pure and natural taste!
Then, we'll head to the fermentation and drying area, a key stage for the cacao seed to develop the aromas that characterize it. You'll witness how every step brings something unique to the final result.
The most interactive part will be in the processing area, where you'll toast the seeds, shell them by hand, and determine their exact cooking point with your senses. It's an art!
Afterward, it'll be the moment you turn into a true chocolatier. You'll choose the type of chocolate you want to prepare: more cacao, sweeter, creamier... You'll toast the cacao seeds, refine them until you get a soft paste, and with your hands, you'll shape them into a chocolate bar, a bombon, or any delicacy you can imagine. The best part is that you get to take your creation home as a souvenir of this unique experience!
During the tour, you'll also enjoy a relaxing moment with a cacao exfoliation on the river shore. This sensorial experience will connect you even more with this ancestral fruit. Don't forget to bring your bathing suit!
Finally, we'll return to San Rafael and say our goodbyes at the starting point after 5 hours.
