Tour Details
Located in the historic centre of San Cugat del Vallés, in the province of Barcelona, the Museum of Comics and Illustration houses a collection of almost 1,500 publications.
The museum is located in a building dating from the mid-19th century, in which you'll find a large exhibition of comic books. These comics narrate the adventures and misadventures of iconic cartoon characters such as Captain Thunder or Mortadelo and Filemón. Both reflect older works, as well as the contemporary. You'll be able to observe a whole collection dedicated to the so-called ninth art.
When you enter the Comic Museum, you'll also see a large collection of weekly magazines and satirical and children's publications. Highlights include copies of popular magazines such as TBO, Pulgarcito, Jabato, and SOS. You'll also have the opportunity to see illustrations from different periods.
The exhibition collection begins with publications from the mid-19th century, and from there shows the evolution of the genre: from its expansion in the mid-20th century to the 1980s, a period in which the world of comics for adults took a giant leap and captivated a wider public.
