On this tour from Rethymno, you'll discover the natural beauty of Central Crete and explore its traditional villages. What's more, you'll admire the magical scenery of Kournas Lake.
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Rethymno and set off on a journey to the central part of the island of Crete to discover its captivating villages and scenery.
First, we'll venture into Kotsifu Gorge, full of cliffs and spectacular geological formations that will render you completely speechless. There we'll also see a church nestled in the rocks and learn all about its history.
We'll continue this tour of Central Crete visiting the historic plateau of Askifou. We'll photograph its imposing landscape and head next to Plakias Bay, where you'll have an hour of free time to relax on the beach and take a dip in the turquoise waters of the Libyan Sea.
After this relaxing break, we'll resume our tour and travel through the mountains of inner Crete until we reach the village of Kallikrati. We'll all learn the deep-rooted customs of this ancient village and then we'll head to Argyroupolis, home to some impressive waterfalls - this breathtaking scenery is quite a sight to behold.
Our last stop will be Lake Kournas, where you'll be able to have lunch in a local restaurant at your own leisure. You'll also have plenty of time to explore at your own pace this beautiful natural landmark.
Lastly, we'll end the tour of Central Crete dropping you back at your hotel in Rethymno at 4 pm.
