Venture into the wildest, most untouched corners of São Miguel on this hiking and snorkeling adventure through lush hillsides, dense vegetation, and underwater gardens. You're going to love it!
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and set off into the deepest, most hidden parts of São Miguel. From the window, you'll watch the city fade away as the landscape opens up into rolling meadows and volcanic stone walls.
Soon, the asphalt gives way to nature as we arrive at Porto Formoso. From here, we'll set off on a 3 to 4-kilometer (2 to 2.5-mile) hiking trail through forests where the air smells of rich earth, walking alongside hillsides and volcanoes sculpted over thousands of years. Along the way, we'll stop at strategic points to take photos.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a secret waterfall appears before us, its water cascading like a silver veil. We'll keep moving toward the coast, where the Atlantic will greet us in its deepest shade of blue. We'll gear up with our snorkeling equipment and dive into the crystal-clear waters hiding a reef beneath the surface.
Over 40 minutes of swimming, we'll spot fish that shimmer like flashes of sunlight, rock formations teeming with life, and an underwater silence that's nothing short of overwhelming. Finally, we'll return to shore with salty skin and begin making our way back.
After 4 hours of adventure in total, we'll head back to your hotel and wrap up the experience.
This tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Ponta Delgada, Lagoa, and Ribeira Grande. If you're staying in other areas, pickup is available at an additional cost of 38EUR.
