Sweet, red, rosé, white... In this tasting of wines from the South of France, we'll taste different varieties at Vents du Sud, a family-run winery in Vingrau, half an hour from Perpignan.
Activity Details
This wine tasting will take place at the indicated time at the Domaine Vents du Sud. This is a popular family-run winery in the wine-growing village of Vingrau, located half an hour's drive from Perpignan.
An English-speaking oenologist will welcome you. First of all, we'll discover the types of terroir that exist and the winemaking methods used in the Pyrénées-Orientales, in the Occitania region. As we'll see, this region in the south of France has a great wine-making tradition.
After this introduction, we'll continue this wine tourism experience with the tasting of 7 wines. Specifically, we'll taste two sweet wines, one rosé, two whites and two reds. In addition, we'll learn how to drink each type of wine.
Dry white wines, whether fruity like Elegance or toasted and buttery like Grenache Blanc, are very suitable for apéritifs, starters and cheeses. The Pétales de Rose rosé can be drunk chilled in summer or at room temperature in winter. As for the reds, we'll try different types, such as the light Sardane or the powerful Tango. As for the sweet wines, the Emotion Muscat and Ruby stand out.
For each type of wine, we'll have a different pairing: toast with salmon for the white and rosé wines, cured meats and cheese for the reds and chocolate for the sweet wine.
Finally, we'll conclude this 1.5-hour tasting with a toast.
