Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet on Beaumont Street, from where we'll hop into a bus and leave Oxford behind to visit the Cotswolds—one of England's most picturesque regions.
We'll start our adventure with a scenic hour-long drive through the idyllic countryside, heading straight into the heart of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our first stop will be the postcard-perfect village of Bibury, home to the famous Arlington Row. These quaint weavers' cottages are among the most photographed spots in the country—when you see them, you'll understand why. You'll have some free time here to wander beside the gentle River Coln, take some photos, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.
Next, we'll make our way to Bourton-on-the-Water, also known as the "Venice of the Cotswolds". With its stone bridges arching gracefully over the River Windrush, this village is a true gem. During some free time here, you'll be able to browse the charming local shops, savour a cream tea in a cosy tearoom, or simply enjoy a riverside stroll. A perfect slice of rural English life!
Our final stop of the day is the charming market town of Burford. With its historic high street lined with independent boutiques, antique shops, and traditional cafés, Burford is full of character. Don't miss the chance to pop into the stunning St John the Baptist Church, an impressive example of medieval architecture.
Finally, after a total of 8.5 hours, we'll arrive back at the starting point in Oxford.
