We'll meet in Piazza Grande and start our exciting tour of Modena and its historic downtown area. Get ready to step inside a monumental cultural heritage site!
Our first stop is in front of the Modena Cathedral, an excellent example of Roman architecture in Italy. We'll admire it's facade, full of intricate details, as we focus in on Ghirlandina Tower, a symbol of Modena. Alongside our knowledgeable guide, we'll learn fascinating details about both monuments, which were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.
Next up? We'll stroll the historic downtown streets, learning more about the city's history. Piazza Roma is one of the best places to showcase the city's history. This square especially stands out for the Ducal Palace, also home to Modena's Military Academy.
This charming city, tucked away within the Emilia-Romagna region, is home to many fascinating legends too! Throughout our tour, we'll discuss the importance of vinager within Moderna's culture, it's relation to Duke Francis V of Habsburg-East, and the local's love affair with Luciano Pavarotti.
Then, after 1.5 hours immersed in the city's historic street, we'll return to the starting point and bring our tour to an end.
