Plata Island Day Trip
At 6:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Manta and set off in a minibus to Machalilla National Park, one of the most protected areas on the Ecuadorian coast. We'll border a large part of the coast, enjoying the ocean views that this natural place offers until we reach Puerto López. There we'll board the boat that will take us to Plata Island.
Following on, we'll leave the coast of Manabí behind and head towards this island called "the small Galapagos". We'll have the opportunity to see exotic birds and, depending on the season, humpback whales. Did you know that they arrive every summer from Antarctica?
When we arrive at Plata Island, we'll be delighted by its steep cliffs made of volcanic rock and varied vegetation. In addition, we'll talk about the most famous inhabitants of the island including the sea turtles - a whole oasis of biodiversity!
We'll return to the boat and enjoy a lunch on board on the way back to Puerto Lopez, including a delicious local dish and a dessert! Afterwards, you'll have free time to explore the town before returning to the minibus and starting the journey back to Manta, arriving back at the hotel at 2:30 pm.
