Are you looking for plans to do near Lisbon? On this day trip, you'll see the famous Cabo da Roca and Sintra, where you can visit the Quinta da Regaleira or the Palacio da Pena on your own.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the Praça de Dom Pedro IV, and from this central spot in Lisbon, we'll set off west to the coast.
Along the trip, you'll see the landscapes of Estoril, Cascais, and Praia do Guincho, and after 1 hour, we'll reach the famous Cabo da Roca. Welcome to the westernmost point of continental Europe! We'll stop for 30 minutes at this special site, where we'll discover its history and admire the extraordinary scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
After taking in the sights, we'll drive for about 30 minutes to Sintra. Once there, we'll embark on a 30-minute guided tour to see the main monuments and tourist attractions in this charming city, whose cultural landscape is a declared World Heritage Site.
Once we finish our tour in the old town, you'll have the rest of the day off in Sintra to stroll, enjoy its exquisite cuisine, and of course, visit its main monuments at your own pace. The most famous landmark is without a doubt the Palacio da Pena, a former residence for the Royal family that stands out due to its eye-catching facade. Its yellow, red, and orange hues give this site an oniric aesthetic.
Another must-see is the Quinta da Regaleira. This unique palace was commissioned to be built at the end of the 19th century by António Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro and is famous for its Initiation Well, which holds many legends. If you want to continue visiting more former residences in Sintra, it's also worth entering the Palace of Sintra or the Biester Palace.
Finalmente, nos volveremos a reunir para regresar hasta el punto de encuentro en Lisboa, donde concluiremos esta excursión de 11 horas.
