In this tour, we'll visit the most emblematic places in Istanbul, including Topkapi Palace, a symbol of the power of Constantinople, having served as the headquarters of the Ottoman Empire.
Guided Bus Tour
After picking you up from your chosen meeting point at the indicated time, we'll begin our guided tour of Istanbul's top landmarks.
First of all, we'll travel in a comfortable vehicle to the Topkapi Palace, the best reflection of the imperial era in Istanbul, as it symbolises the importance that Constantinople reached as the capital of the Ottoman dominions. We'll tour the palace, visiting the different rooms: kitchens, weapons, religious relics and treasures, telling its history and discovering its curiosities. We'll also visit the famous harem room.
Afterwards, we'll continue our tour through the Pera district, known for its unique architecture and European influence. We'll then walk to the Galata district to see the exterior of the famous tower.
Around midday, we'll stop to eat in a traditional Turkish restaurant. The menu will include specialties like börek (similar to a pie), meat or vegetables, and a dessert. If you'd prefer, you can also choose to get lunch by yourself.
Feeling refuelled, we'll visit Taksim Square, passing through Istiklal Avenue, which is the modern heart of Istanbul, famous for its atmosphere, shops and restaurants. We'll also visit the impressive Süleymaniye Mosque, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture and one of the largest mosques in Istanbul.
Finally, you'll have some free time in the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. There, we'll end the tour after about 7 hours.
Topkapi Palace & the Grand Bazaar
The government does occasional renovations of the Topkapi Palace throughout the year, so certain sections may be closed during your visit.
The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays, October 29, and on Muslim holidays.
