Do you already have a ticket to the Alhambra in Granada? If you want to visit the most visited monument in Spain with a guide, this tour is for you! We'll discover all the secrets of the Nasrid Palaces.
Tour Details
If you already have your ticket to the Alhambra in Granada, you can explore this incredible monument with a guide. We'll meet at the café located on Avenida del Generalife, next to the ticket offices. During our guided tour, we'll explore the great treasures of this World Heritage Site.
One of the tour's highlights will be the guided tour of the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra. These are three sumptuous residences where the former rulers of the Nasrid Kingdom lived: the Mexuar Palace, the Comares Palace, and the Palace of the Lions. In the latter, we'll see the courtyard and the fountain of the same name, undoubtedly one of the jewels of Andalusian art.
We'll also explore the Alcazaba, the military compound that protected the palace complex. In this ancient 13th-century fortress, we'll see the remains of the Plaza de Armas and learn about the history of the main defensive watchtowers, notably the Torre de la Vela and the Torre de la Pólvora.
In addition, we'll head to the Generalife Palace to visit its bucolic, Arabic-style gardens. There, we'll discover how water is an indispensable element in Islamic cultures, thanks to the sound of its fountains and the murmur of streams flowing through the irrigation channels.
At the end of this 3-hour tour, and before leaving the complex, you can use your ticket to explore other highlights of the monumental complex on your own, such as the Medina, the Palace of Charles V, the Partal Gardens, and the Lower Gardens of the Generalife. You may visit these areas multiple times during the validity period of your ticket.
Please note that once the guided tour of the Alcazaba, the Nasrid Palaces, and the Generalife Palace has ended, you will not be able to re-enter these sites.
