On this buggy tour through Madeira's Laurisilva Forest, we'll explore the trails of Funduras, volcanic landscapes, and viewpoints such as Pico do Furado. Let's go on an adventure!
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to the Funduras trail in Fajã dos Rolos. Once we arrive, we’ll get you geared up and assign you your buggies. Are you ready to venture deep into eastern Madeira?
During the 2.5-hour tour, we’ll drive the buggies along dirt roads and rocky sections. We’ll take in the rugged terrain and dense vegetation so characteristic of the Laurisilva Forest, an ecosystem designated as a World Heritage Site.
We’ll make our first stop at Casa das Funduras, a strategic forestry support station. Here, we’ll learn about the sustainable management of this protected area and its role in preserving Madeira’s biodiversity.
We’ll continue the tour along winding trails that will put the buggies’ traction to the test, always at a low level of difficulty and with complete safety. The landscape will gradually open up until we reach Pico do Furado, one of the tour’s most outstanding viewpoints.
From this point, we’ll enjoy a sweeping panoramic view of Madeira’s north coast, characterized by volcanic cliffs and deep valleys. After a break to take photos and rest, we’ll head back to the starting point of the buggy tour.
Finally, we’ll return to your hotel, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of approximately 4.5 hours.
