Ready to spot some dolphins? On this boat trip to Cabo Girão, we'll sail along the volcanic coast of southern Madeira while you enjoy snacks and drinks on board. And you'll see one of the highest cliffs in Europe!
Activity Details
Fancy discovering just how beautiful Funchal looks from the water? We'll meet at Praça do Povo, where a boat will be waiting to set sail for the most enchanting corners of Madeira's southern coast.
As we pull away from the Funchal shoreline, the rugged volcanic geography that defines Madeira starts to come into view. Steep cliffs, rock formations, slopes blanketed in vegetation. You'll fall for it from minute one! We'll also keep watch on the horizon for marine wildlife. Did you know that dolphin sightings are relatively common in Madeiran waters, and that whales appear at certain times of year?
We'll sail toward Cabo Girão, one of the island's great natural icons. This imposing headland rises to roughly 600 meters (1,969 feet) and is one of the highest cliffs in Europe. Its near-vertical walls are a perfect illustration of the island's volcanic origins.
Weather permitting, we'll stop for a swim. Here you can use the included snorkeling equipment to explore the seabed and cool off in the middle of the Atlantic. The crew will also take photos throughout, so you go home with an unforgettable memory of the trip.
Best of all, there's a spread of snacks on board: cream pastries, apple puff pastry, cured bacon sandwiches, olives with truffled cream cheese, cod croquettes, honey biscuits, and gluten-free biscuits. You'll also have an open bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including soft drinks, cocktails, wine, beer, still and sparkling water, tea, and coffee.
Finally, after a total of 3 hours at sea, the experience comes to an end back at the original meeting point. See you next time!
