Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel or the cruise port of Fort-de-France to start this tour of the south of Martinique.
The first stop on our tour will be the Trois Rivières Distillery rum factory, where we'll discuss the differences between white and aged rum. Here, we'll visit an important historic site marked by its windmill, where we'll learn about Denominación de Origen Controlada rum.
Then, we'll head to the Village de la Poterie (Pottery Village), located on the outskirts of the French commune of Les Trois-Îlets. There, we can enjoy watching the pottery workshops that have been active since the 18th century. Tiles, ceramics, and different works of terracotta flood the streets of this place.
We'll continue our journey to a viewpoint from where we'll be able to see Diamond Rock, a basalt islet located 1.86 mi (3 km) off the coast. The sun glints make this rock look like a real diamond! We'll then visit the Cap 110 Memorial to learn about the history of the 1830 shipwreck in which hundreds of slaves died.
Afterward, we'll travel to Les Anses d'Arlet, a bay of crystal-clear waters where you can enjoy lunch on your own and relax. Here, you can also take a dip in the Caribbean Sea if you wish.
After 2 hours in this last stop, we'll head back to the starting point. Arrival is scheduled 6 hours after pickup.
