We'll guide you through the quaint, historic streets of Charleston's French Quarter to start talking about the importance of the sea to the city. Pirates, natural disasters and war left their mark on the local cuisine.
First, we'll stop for a South Carolina-style barbecue - they say it's the oldest barbecue in the world! We'll continue our food tour of Charleston with a stroll through the Charleston market. Have you ever tried fried green tomatoes? You'll love their flavour!
Of course, this walking tour of Charleston would not be complete without a visit to a local pub for some tasty homemade treats. Many of the dishes we'll taste will be prepared by descendants of the Scottish and Irish immigrants, who once represented almost 50% of the local population.
