Visit one of the symbolic jewels of Normandy with this day trip to Mont-Saint-Michel. Immerse yourself in its legendary history full of centuries-old secrets with this day trip from Bayeux.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Place Québec in Bayeux to depart for Normandy.
After a 90-minute drive, you'll arrive at Mont-Saint-Michel, the second most visited place in France after Paris! It's an island-rock located at the mouth of the Couesnon River, very close to the border between the regions of Normandy and Brittany.
The tour will start by visiting the interior of the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey. In this temple of medieval origin, dedicated to the archangel St Michael, we'll admire the Romanesque architecture of the abbey church and the Marvelle, the area where the monks used to live.
During the tour of the cloister, the refectory and other parts of the monument, we'll reveal some of the secrets and legends of Mont-Saint-Michel. Many of them have been reflected in films and literary works such as the novel The Angel's Promise. The abbey has also been the subject of several mysteries that we'll also reveal to you inside the abbey.
Then you'll have 1 hour of free time around Mont-Saint-Michel to have lunch and wander through the narrow streets of the small village at the foot of the abbey. We recommend that you climb up to the viewpoints, where you'll enjoy excellent panoramic views of the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.
Finally, we'll meet up again to return to the starting point in Bayeux, arriving after a total of 8 hours.
