Enjoy the purity of Colombian nature with this excursion to La Virginia and El Guásimo from Armenia.
La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion
At 7 am on the morning of the tour, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Armenia and hit the road towards the department of Risaralda. After a trip of an hour and a half, we'll arrive at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, of the municipality of La Virginia.
Once there, we'll begin a three-hour hike through this beautiful protected area, characterized by being the only dry tropical forest in the entire Andean region.
Arriving at the Cauca River, we'll follow its course for an hour, crossing the lush vegetation and admiring the great diversity of flora and fauna of the forest. Here we'll be able to find monkeys, felines, rodents, armadillos and sloths, among other species.
During the route, we'll also take a break to recharge our batteries with a typical lunch consisting of a main dish and a drink.
Then, we'll travel to La Virginia, a picturesque town where the Cauca and Risaralda rivers meet. On a tour of the town, we'll get to see its extensive coffee plantations while we learn about some of the local legends and traditions.
Finally, we'll take the road back to Armenia and drop you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
